YAS2026 Invites the Algae Community to Help Shape Its Programme

The organisers of YAS2026 have launched a community call for input to co-create next year’s symposium, inviting researchers, entrepreneurs, students, and industry leaders to help define the programme that will take place in Wageningen.

The initiative asks prospective attendees to share what matters most to them—from the focus topics they want on the agenda to the speakers and activities they believe would make the event unforgettable. According to the organising team, the goal is simple: build a symposium “by and for the algae community,” ensuring the programme reflects the field’s most pressing challenges and promising opportunities.

Participants are encouraged to:

Vote on key focus topics for YAS2026;

Suggest speakers, panels, and interactive sessions;

Propose workshops, demos, and community-building activities.

“Algae innovation is moving fast—from sustainable bioproducts to climate solutions and circular bioeconomy models,” said the organisers in a statement. “By opening the programme design to the community, we want to surface the ideas, voices, and collaborations that will drive the next wave of impact.”

The short survey is open now and takes only a few minutes to complete. Feedback collected will guide curation across plenary talks, thematic tracks, hands-on sessions, and networking formats—aiming to balance scientific depth with practical, real-world applications.

Deadline: Submissions are requested by 13 November 2025 to ensure community input can be incorporated into programme planning.
